Meet the Cast of The Haunting of Hill House!

There is a house on a hill whose walls hold a dark, dark secret. On Halloween weekend, three young people will travel to Hill House believing that they are to be part of a study to cure them of their insomnia. Little do they know, the ghost of the former owner, Hugh Crane, and the other spirits who dwell in the house have a very different idea.
The Haunting of Hill House opens Friday, October 28 (7 pm), Saturday, Oct 29 (7 pm) and Sunday Oct 30 (2 pm) in the Kenneth Maurer Performing Arts Center. Tickets are on sale now by visiting the MTHS box office, or by calling 309.367.4151 EXT 574 or by emailing kherrick@mths.us.
Ticket prices are: Adults - $8, Seniors and students under 13 - $5. MTHS students are free with a student ID. All tickets are reserved. Get your tickets now.

MTHS Educators Rising members attended the Future Teacher Conference at Illinois State University with over 1,200 future teachers from around the state.
Art Club members came in early Thursday morning to build ceramic mugs to get through the coming winter. We can’t wait to fire and glaze them!

Central Illinois College Fair Wednesday, October 19th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Digital Imaging students have been busy playing with flashlights and slow shutter speeds to create light painting photos. Besides seeing how slow shutter speeds affect an image, students also learn how to layer images and use masks in Photoshop.
October in Food Science means carving pumpkins and roasting seeds.
Today the ceramics students visited Wheel Art Pottery Studio to fire their raku pieces and to see a working pottery studio in action.
MTHS Educators Rising club members got some great insight and valuable career information from guest speaker Dr. Ben Lee, superintendent of Metamora Grade School.

Students in Mrs. Dale’s Graphic Arts classes participated in the Discover Manufacturing Expo on Wednesday. They toured Versa Press and ICC manufacturing facilities, including Graphic Communications where some students got to screen print a t-shirt.
The Redbird Buddies had a great time cheering on our Lady Redbirds Volleyball team tonight! Go Redbirds!
East Peoria has informed us they will not be able to participate in a varsity game on Friday at 7:30 PM.
We will still be having a Freshman football game starting at 5:00 PM on Friday. We would love to see the community supporting our students, cheerleaders, and band members. Pre-game for the Freshman game will include a cheer routine, followed by the national anthem, and Freshmen entering the field running through the breakthrough with the band and drumline. At halftime, our Marching Redbirds will be performing. We will have a limited concessions menu with our outdoor concessions serving brats.

Students in Señora Ambrosch's Honors Spanish IV class created movie trailers in Spanish to make predictions about the next chapter of a book. Students did an amazing job writing scripts, memorizing their lines, and acting! Buen trabajo!
Students in Mr. Kiesewetter’s home room were practicing communication skills by trying to complete a jigsaw puzzle blindfolded!
Students in senior English TD created their crime boards last week. They used analytical skills to determine the possible suspects in "The Case Against Adnan Syed."
