Several students in the Spanish program took the APPLL exam to attempt to get the Seal of Biliteracy. The seal demonstrates that one has an Intermediate High - Advanced Low level in a language and awards a substantial amount of college credits. These 8 students achieved this outstanding achievement, and 98% of those who took the test received commendation which states they passed in one or more of the 4 proficiency categories (reading, writing, speaking, listening). Our seniors aimed to achieve this goal this past Wednesday as well by taking the AP Spanish and Language exam! We are so proud of our hard-working students! Congrats Redbirds!
Congratulations to Ashton Davis, who will continue her athletic and academic career by playing lacrosse at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, IA.
Unified Redbirds Student Spotlight...Garrett, our MTHS Football Assistant. Garrett is finishing his freshman year at MTHS. He loves to read the Metamora Football starting lineup. This year, Garrett helped with the ball handoff to the refs and with water during the Redbirds' football season. With his buddy, Bryton Short, Garrett has been a very valuable part of MTHS Football! Help support Garrett and other students in Unified Redbirds by purchasing the Donation Creation from Eli's the entire month of May!

Spanish IV Honors students studied the history of piñatas, so of course making a piñata from scratch had to be the final activity! Students gave directions in Spanish after watching a How-to video only once. They turned out fabulous, and now we all know the origin and meaning behind piñatas!
