Caterpillar is hosting a camp this summer for students interested in exploring the Engineering field as a potential career. This camp is for students entering their junior or senior year, and is being held on July 15-18. This camp is free. MTHS students who have participated in this event in the past have given great reviews, and it would be great to see some MTHS students benefit from this again this year. Please see the attached pics for more information on how to register.

Happy Friday from Unified PE! Coloring and cutting paper is a great way to develop stronger fine motor skills. Some students are also playing basketball which is considered an aerobic activity. Our students LOVE the options on FUN Friday.

Honors Spanish III students researched different dishes from Spanish speaking countries. Students prepared the foods for their classmates and did how-to demonstration speeches!

Honors Spanish IV students attended Béisbol in the Classroom listening to the Spanish Broadcasting team for the St. Louis cardinals share their stories and knowledge about the importance of bilingualism!

Honors Spanish IV students throughout second semester have taken turns teaching a full class period on a specific cultural event from a Spanish speaking country. Students prepared an interactive lesson with the history of the event, served typical foods eaten during the event, and carried out a typical activity from the event. So much fun has been had! Thanks seniors!

The Peoria Chiefs were generous with their time today in Spanish 3. Venezuelan catchers Luis Rodriguez and Carlos Linares and Dominican pitcher Dionys Rodriguez spent 90 minutes answering student questions about baseball careers and their transition to the Peoria area in the target language. Wearing their COPA Perros Bomberos de Peoria uniforms highlighting Hispanic heritage, the players shared the joy of baseball and making new friends in Spanish. ¡Vivan los Perros Bomberos!

Congratulations to Brennen W. for winning the "März Verrücktheit" (March Madness) German music contest!! Students listened to German music and voted on their favorite songs. Brennen's bracket beat out all of Frau Fandel's other students. Gut gemacht!
