Congratulations to two MTHS wrestlers who have qualified for the USMC National Championships in wrestling. Grady Neal, an incoming Junior, will compete in Greco Roman junior division, and incoming Freshman Calliope Willman will compete in the Girls' Cadet Freestyle competition. This is the largest wrestling tournament in the world. In wrestling, "Fargo" refers to the U.S. Marine Corps Junior and 16U National Championships held annually in Fargo, North Dakota. It's a prestigious event, often called the biggest high school wrestling tournament in the United States. The competition features both boys' and girls' freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling divisions. The event is held at the Fargodome and attracts thousands of wrestlers and fans. It's a key event for high school wrestlers looking to showcase their skills and potentially earn college scholarships. Many wrestlers who compete at Fargo go on to achieve success at the collegiate and even senior levels.
Grady and Cali are on the Illinois Nationals team and will be representing our state and school. Best of luck, Grady and Cali!
