The Metamora Archery Team is open to any student in the high school.

We are affiliated with the National Archery in Schools Program (NASP) and use Genesis compound bows to compete in meets around central Illinois. All competitions use 10 ring targets. We go to State in Springfield each year. The top 10 ten teams and the top 10 archers at State qualify to go to Nationals in Louisville, KY.

We practice Tuesday and Thursday mornings in the Garber Gym second semester. The Tuesday and Thursday after Thanksgiving, we require anyone who has never shot in the NASP program to attend a beginner session before regular practices start to go over safety procedures and to get a feel for the equipment. Practices conclude after state. We are not under IHSA and this will not provide a waiver for PE.

You must pay $7 for each meet you participate in and $20 to participate in State .
