Heather (Hoffman) Jenkins, a 1993 MTHS graduate, was a four-time all-state golfer in high school. She finished 2nd in the state meet as a junior and senior, while taking 3rd place as a freshman and 7th as a sophomore.
As a young golfer, Heather had success early and often. She recorded four holes-in-one prior to her eighteenth birthday! She won the Mid-Illini Conference boys golf title as a junior, prior to the conference having a girls golf competitive schedule.
During this time, Heather also dominated the local adult scene, capturing Peoria Women’s City championships in 1991, 1993, and 1994.
She went on to star at Northwestern University, earning all-Big Ten honors in 1995 and 1996. In 2009, she became the first women’s golfer to ever be inducted into the Northwestern University Athletics Hall of Fame.
